You know I never realized but I had the perfect title for my spoiler review series hidden in my blog files. Spoiler Filled Thoughts was initially used as an extension of my reviews. That didn’t work out as well as I would have liked. On movies though this may work, trying this out with X-Men: Days of Future Past. Enjoy being my guinea pigs as I revive this. If you want an actual review of X-Men: Days of Future Past, simple version is I liked it. It’s not perfect but I do consider this film to be The Avengers of the X-Men franchise. As clarifications, I don’t think it is as good as The Avengers but it is The Avengers for Fox’s X-Men franchise. After this the spoilers begin at full speed ahead. That’s right kids, no spoiler left unturned I am spoiling this movie so much right now. If you haven’t seen X-Men: Days of Future Past yet I wouldn’t recommend reading further. Now if you have seen it or don’t really care to see it, welcome aboard feel free to read onward. Let’s get the Spoiler Filled Thoughts out there to the world! Welcome to my Spoiler Filled Thoughts on X-Men: Days of Future Past.
(Extra Spoiler Barrier here just in case, you have been doubly warned in bold. As I am now going to bold this for extra effect.)
Okay, so everyone that’s still here now we can begin my Spoiler Filled Thoughts.
First off, as I mentioned on twitter but was I the only one who noticed the Future Sentinels were The Fury times infinity? Take a look at that design and then notice The Fury, that can’t be a coincidence. If you’re a reader of Secret Avengers, The Fury did just recently pop up in that series. Initially the Fury came out of Captain Britain as Alan Moore and Alan Davis created it for that series in the UK. The Fury is the ultimate weapon and I saw the Future Sentinels and thought about that one. Besides I love the concept of The Fury, so if the closest thing to The Fury is in X-Men: Days of Future Past, works for me. Of course as I talk about The Fury I know at least a few of you have no idea what I’m going on about. Totally groovy, hunt down the Captain Britain material or early bit of Chris Claremont’s Uncanny X-Men run in 2004. I recommend reading if you’re curious to know more.
Now as for the rest of this movie, I love how it eliminated all the less popular of the X-Films from the franchise. Now the series can be pushed onwards into X-Men: Apocalypse with at least less baggage involved now. Yes there are issues with the X-Men franchise at Fox still but it’s in a whole lot better shape than it was. This was the big send off for the original cast and when I saw Cyclops and Jean Grey pop up at the end I laughed. I loved those final two appearances as likely it’ll be the last time either James Marsden or Famke Janssen ever appear again. We’ll likely see Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Hugh Jackman again but everyone else is easily up in the air. Outside of the First Class cast that’s still alive, Quicksilver, and hopefully other characters getting more screen time.
Note this too, I lost my mind at seeing En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse on that screen. As the crowd was chanting his name I about lost it, then the reveal of Apocalypse and pan over to the Four Horsemen. Good lord, X-Men: Apocalypse is already showing that this is going to be a massive epic in scale. The big part of seeing X-Men: Days of Future Past was seeing Bryan Singer to a full blown superhero mega fight at a large scale, it worked. This film was training for what X-Men: Apocalypse has in store for us. At least they can now get a strong focus on this film, the story is course corrected now we can move on. We have scale, we have story, now put it all together to make X-Men: Apocalypse the amazing film we all know it could be.
By the way, who didn’t love the line Quicksilver gave to Magneto about his Mom? That was hilarious, I still wish we could have gotten more Quicksilver in the movie but I’ll take what I can get. Who would have imagined that from that costume and goofy commercial, Quicksilver would turn out to be great? I was one of the doubters myself, in a big shiny way I was a doubter. Now I leave myself in the state of mind that dang it X-Men: Days of Future Past, your Quicksilver was amazing. I did love the slo-mo scene by the way, that turned out well in my opinion. Even better that Sanford and Son saved the world in a way, that cracked me up so much. The reactions of the security guards were priceless, especially one just getting into the show. Quicksilver and the entire Pentagon sequence was a major win.
The future is now X-Men Franchise, Fox is doing better with it than Sony is with Spider-Man right now that’s for sure. X-Men is primed and ready for the future of the franchise. X-Men: Days of Future Past was a better film than anyone imagined. At least Fox is showing that with the X-Men now, they know what they’re doing. Now anything can go haywire with this franchise there at any time, for right now we’re in good shape. Onwards to X-Men: Apocalypse and the hope that the movie turns out awesome.
Brutal honesty moment here for you all, I only read one issue of Forever Evil. One single issue of Forever Evil was all I could handle because I did not like that book. As Forever Evil hit just after the Trinity War series I did for Comics Crux maybe I’d look into expanding into Forever Evil. Even Trinity War had managed to at least do enough to get me interested in reading more. After that one issue I just couldn’t read any further into the series. I kept loose tabs on Forever Evil but nothing more than that. Barely paid attention to the whole hooded prisoner or anything else involving the series. Forever Evil did a number in killing my interest in DC after the slight high I got after finding myself enjoying Trinity War by the end. Now I’m reading about the aftermath of Forever Evil #7 and you know DC may have more potential after the event than when it was happening.
)By the way I did spoil myself on this purposely but if anyone on here reads it or plans on reading the series later, here’s your spoiler warning. I start spoiling the heck out of Forever Evil #7 now. You have been warned in the best authoritative voice I can make.)
Let’s go for the fun appearances, Ted Kord officially in the New 52. Oh my sweet lord that made me smile. Any chance of me getting the Ted Kord Blue Beetle back and somehow Booster Gold in the picture again makes me smile. I’m an old school Justice League International fan and love the Blue and Gold combination of awesome. Even better that there’s the concept of Lex Luthor as a good guy in the picture. He’s learned Bruce Wayne is Batman. Yes, Lex Luthor knows Bruce Wayne is Batman in the New 52. That is crazy but cool at the same time. You may also be surprised to find out that I actually am hyped for the Grayson book, the concept intrigues me. Of course the one major piece of fallout from Forever Evil is what may get me checking DC Comics on a more regular basis, say hello to the Anti-Monitor.
People had been wondering what DC Comics was going to do next year for the 30th anniversary of Crisis on Infinite Earths. Bringing the Anti-Monitor back in play is a major push towards the future of the DC Universe. I don’t think that this is a sign that the old DCU is making a comeback, this is likely a setup for the Earth 2 weekly and Future’s End. Putting Anti-Monitor against Darkseid is an attention getter for me. For the first time in a long time I feel as though stuff is happening in the New 52. Not just here’s one event, here’s another event, oh look at that another event, and now an actual something to grasp onto. I’m amazed, I’m legit amazed that somehow in the midst of Forever Evil that DC is starting to find a groove.
If Forever Evil’s biggest success manages to create interest in the New 52, they may have succeeded. This is the first time in a long time I’ve actually been wanting to see more of DC Comics. All I can say for DC Comics going into the rest of this year into 2015, don’t screw this up. Keep up this wave of excitement and energy in your line. If you manage to screw this up, I don’t know what to tell you. Go big or go home DC Comics because at this point, The New 52 needs this spark of life in the worst way possible. Crisis in the New 52 has a nice ring to it don’t you think?
Update: If you want to know more of the beats of Forever Evil that I didn’t catch check out @Jawiin’s video he did on the event. He did a great job with it.
Oh where, oh where, did Man of Steel 2 go, oh where, oh where could it be?
Funny thing happened in the Internet, Man of Steel 2 is officially not Man of Steel 2. The film is now titled, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice because Batman rules over all in the land of Warner Brothers. The comedy of this is simple, Man of Steel didn’t bring Warner Bros. the billion dollar figure so Batman here to save the billion dollar day. As this has been announced, I am legit laughing. Yes this sets this as a prequel for Justice League, that’s fine and I see where they’re coming from. That’s respectable enough that they want to boost up that upcoming movie, now I wonder whatever happened to The Man of Steel 2? Superman it seems has been crowded out of his own movie as Batman has taken the lead away from The Man of Steel. While I understand title flow at least Superman should have had a more prominent place in what was originally his movie. To be honest at this point the evolution of this film from Man of Steel 2 to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice leaves me less than enthused.
As with my lack of enthusiasm for the Justice League piece, I want to be proven wrong. When I see the trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice I want to see myself wanting to be in that theater day one. As of right now though I’m just amused at this stage of the film. I will go further in stating that yes I like the Batman costume and Batmobile and I can’t wait to see those pictures of the film as they get released. Believe me until that trailer hits I will be keeping tabs on the progress of Batman V Superman. When the only thing I’m really enthusiastic about is the fact that the Batman costume looks cool, that’s not a good sign. There’s a lot to prove here too, this is Warner Brothers/DC Entertainment’s big set up to Justice League. Outside of Batman though, I’m not seeing much else to be Yay Batman V Superman yet.
Now if this turns out to be a cool movie come 2016, I’ll be happy to say I was wrong in my lack of enthusiasm. I will do the darned Dance of Joy if Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice turns out to be great. I joke that the surname here is as subtle as a hammer as to what they’re going for. While this will be our sequel to Man of Steel 2, I wouldn’t expect as much follow up as you realize. Man of Steel introduces Superman, Batman V Superman sets up Batman, Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman and more, boy this movie is going to be crowded with characters. Every character introduced in Man of Steel probably won’t be in the movie much taking a back seat to whatever other things are happening in the film. Oh they’re all back but as bit players, at least from what I can gather.
Aye yi yi, I don’t know at this point. Maybe I am being a bit cynical about this movie, the name, and everything else Justice League surrounding this. If this movie turns out to be amazing, I will be as happy as anyone else. I’m not kidding about doing the dance of joy outside of the theater if this turns out to be wonderful. Until then, let the first trailer of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice be my guide to see how much enthusiasm I will end up having for this movie in the interim.
Oh my gosh you all out there do not even realize how excited I am for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I can hardly contain myself as this trailer blew my mind. I’m not kidding, this is going to be my movie of the summer. A movie that is still considered risky for Marvel Studios to be doing is changing the tide fast into being eagerly awaited. If the response I’m seeing echoes throughout the movie going universe, Guardians of the Galaxy will be huge for comic and non-comic fans alike. Take a look at this second trailer and see for yourself what I’m talking about. I can only give you the hyper energy of a guy who’s been looking forward to this for awhile, forge your own opinion I’ll be here after you’re doing watching, link below and I’ll see you in the next paragraph.
If you’re still here, hi and glad you chilled to watch the trailer. Now by this point you’re either just as excited as I am or wondering why in the world is he so excited? Guardians of the Galaxy to me has the most fresh energy behind the film I’ve seen. James Gunn’s direction is already showing that this is going to be unlike anything else Marvel Studios has done. I will say it’s taking me time to get used to Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon as I never imagined his voice but it’ll grow on me. Now Groot, Vin Diesel as Groot is perfection. If anyone had any doubt in Diesel’s handing of Groot, I just point them in the direction of The Iron Giant and enough said.
Guardians of the Galaxy is Marvel Studios most unusual film but that makes it all the more cooler. I fully admit I’m a bit biased, I like the Guardians of the Galaxy from way back when I was buying comics in the 90’s. I also dug the heck out of Abnett and Lanning’s Guardians of the Galaxy too which makes me even more biased. I do believe that as people see more on the Guardians of the Galaxy they’ll love it. Chris Pratt is having fun with Star Lord, Zoe Saldana has the look down for Gamora, Dave Batista has potential as Drax, and I’m sold. This film has energy, there’s life here and I’m looking forward to more. August 1, 2014 cannot come soon enough and I plan on seeing this that opening weekend. I can guarantee that I’m going to have a good time.
After multiple years of the Original Sailor Moon anime being out of print and going for heavily inflated prices across the Internet, rejoice as Viz is bringing the series back to life! I cannot believe this myself as I read this announcement, it’s taken long enough for somebody to get the license for this anime. One of the most in demand anime on the planet that no one could get without paying an arm and a leg for is going to be seen again. Viz is doing the route of streaming it online via their own streaming service NeonAlley and Hulu starting on Monday, May 19, 2014. Now they are working a new dub and by the way it’ll be uncut, meaning all of the original Sailor Moon Anime will be seen the way it was meant to be. Yes all 200 episodes uncut, all three of the movies, and starting in the fall; the first time the series will be on Blu-Ray with a DVD release with half season sets.
Take a look at the trailer below to learn more on this as I get the feeling as I share this link with everyone else, the fanbase is going to be losing their minds.
Many of us out there that had been watching to watch Sailor Moon can finally see it again. The best part being if you want to watch it streaming you can do that to get yourselves pumped up for the fall release. Then the dub is being worked on for a release later in the year. If you want more info on just what Viz Media is doing with the Original Sailor Moon programming check out the interview Charlene Ingram and Josh Lopez did for Anime News Network here. The interview is well worth the read to learn the restoration efforts going into the series and their dedication to the material. Even further as to how they got the license to the original Sailor Moon in the first place.
I’m excited to finally see the series available in the states again. It’s been a long time coming for the Original Sailor Moon to return, now she’s back and better than ever. If you’re a new anime fan, I’d highly recommend watching the Original Sailor Moon to see what you think. For us old school anime fans can only say that Sailor Moon was a big part of our fandom, now it is time to show the new generation why it was a big part of our world.
The 90’s are all powerful and we are helpless to stop it, we embrace you 90’s overlords in all of your glory. Now you wonder why I make that statement. As I was reading Robot 6 today, I saw a story on Death of Wolverine and “Weapon Etched Holo Foil”, you read that right. As the 90’s gimmicks have been making a comeback, I will say that they’re being done with some level of heart to them. Like this “Weapon Etched Holo Foil” but Mike Marts, who is the Executive Editor, decides he really likes Steve McNiven’s cover and wants to give it the deluxe treatment. At least now it’s not just being done to be done, as I feel there’s some reasoning behind these covers making a comeback. I think it’s hilarious that these gimmick covers are returning the way they are.
Focus on this, if you don’t want the “Weapon Etched Holo Foil” you don’t have to get it. From what I can tell this is a pure variant cover so totally optional. Just another of the likely multitudes of variants that will be released with The Death of Wolverine. The creative team I was already behind, Charles Soule is a great writer who’s behind one of my current favorite series out of Marvel being She-Hulk, which you should all buy by the way. On the artist side Steve McNiven is an impressive artist who’s never been one to disappoint, now put these two together and you have an event weekly series in itself. This is the day and age we’re in though where variant covers are the lifeblood and the Death of Wolverine is going to be a huge weekly event in September.
I will be curious to see how McNiven’s cover is handled in this “Weapon Etched Holo Foil” format. I’m still going to check out the series because I admit I am curious. Yes we all know that Wolverine will be back from the dead after Death of Wolverine, if anyone thinks he’s actually dying then I don’t know what to tell you. At least Marvel is sealing the Death of Wolverine in “Weapon Etched Holo Foil” covers, because at least in this case it fits the situation. 1990’s you were a glorious decade in cover gimmicks, twenty plus years into the future your influence still remains strong.
Flash Fact: Following The Arrow Season Three finale, now the hype machine begins for The Flash Series premiere. The first trailer was shown last night during Arrow making it clear that the series is going to be a big part of Arrow’s universe. Just a sweet way to show that while Arrow and The Flash are two unique series, the connection will still be there and prominent. Even better showing the personalities of the two characters and how different but similar they are in their own way. Check out the fun trailer first, that I am going to show below. It’s a cool trailer that can give you a great idea as to how Barry Allen’s Flash is being trained.
The hashtag of Don’t Blink is perfect for this show, even the logo for The Flash screams fun for this show. The longer trailer shown today gives us more of an idea of the tone The Flash will have. You can see the full interconnected nature of The Flash and Arrow highlighted further and get an idea as to how the series will play out in the months to come. I love that they’re putting Weather Wizard in this as the first major Rogue, I am surprised they’re not using Captain Cold but that’s for the full Rogues later on. This is the trailer that made me excited for The Flash and made me realize that The Flash and Arrow are going to compliment in each other in a brilliant way. Check out the full trailer below and see what you think.
I’d love how Grant Gustin handled Barry Allen in the Arrow episodes he was in and he plays The Flash with that same energy. The suit in motion looks a lot better than what the still shots gave me. Now I am full speed ahead in being jazzed for The Flash. The CW putting this on at 8 pm on Tuesday bugs me a bit as I would love to have had the Arrow and The Flash power lineup. To speculate here, maybe the CW is going with splitting up the shows over two nights for crossovers and having more live eyes on the network. DVR views are huge but the live audience is huge and keeping viewers engaged for two nights of live programming would be huge. Of course the other speculation is not having two superhero shows in one night that could just be too much of a good thing to have right now. Either way, The CW is going to be a happy network this year I think.
Between Constantine, Agents of SHIELD, Arrow, Gotham, and now The Flash hitting the airwaves this fall, this is an exciting time. Prepare your DVR’s, your snacks, and whatever other preparations you need to make, we are in for one amazing fall season. The Flash is just one part of a sequentially beautiful year in comic book television.
(As per the Agents of SHIELD column, spoilers upon more spoilers shall be in this column. Please be advised that I hold little back when I discuss something that involves a spoiler. Your mileage may vary on spoilers but I just want to get this out of the way now. Warning is given and onwards with the writing at hand.)
If you may or may not known I did a column for Comics Crux and for a short time at Rhymes With Geek called Arrow Analysis. I ended up putting the column on hiatus to focus on other matters. Now likely next season for Arrow I’ll revive Arrow Analysis because the Season Two finale set the stage for big possibilities. If you deal with Agents of SHIELD, the uptick for that show happened just before and after Captain America: Winter Soldier. Season Two of Arrow was on a high from the beginning outside of stumbling a bit at the midpoint, mostly in Laurel Lance’s character development. Outside of any stumbling points in Season Two, Season Three of Arrow looks like it could be mindblowing.
By the way get your spoiler goggles on now, because this is where I pull no punches and start revealing extra stuff left and right. Spoilers are now officially on because if one warning isn’t good enough, two should be sufficient to get my point across.
Now that you’re still here now we can begin, Arrow’s Season Finale gave us multiple changes to characters and new situations to play with. Thea Queen now moving on to be with her Dad, Malcolm Meryln which will be the set up for more appearances from Malcolm in the future. I’m looking forward to Thea’s evolution as a character, I hope that the series spends time with her as she gets to know her Dad. The train station scene of Thea and Malcolm shows that she has a lot more in her than even she realized. I don’t think this will end up being the generic someone becomes evil, I’m thinking along the lines of Thea becoming a stronger version of herself thanks to someone who’s accepted who he is. That’s my own theory on this one as Thea Queen’s evolution has only just begun.
At this point I am begging The CW at some point to do a Suicide Squad spinoff because Amanda’s team needs more screen time. Deadshot popping up in that last bit near the end made me so happy. The next step towards a stronger presence for Deadshot next season, especially with Diggle about to be a Dad with Lyla’s baby on the way. That ties A.R.G.U.S. into Arrow’s universe even more. Now that the flashbacks are going to be centered around Ollie’s time with Amanda Waller in Hong Kong, we’re going to be getting tons of A.R.G.U.S time next season. I’m happy that we’re not going to see a different setting for the flashbacks next season. I was so burnt on The Island flashbacks it was unreal so a new surrounding for them is a breath of fresh air.
Of course The Island is still a factor, Deathstroke is now there in the beginning of the A.R.G.U.S. supermax it seems. That is a slick idea especially when you realize Waller and Oliver Queen already have a relationship of sorts, it makes all the more sense how The Island became known to her in the first place. That’s actually the clever part of this season finale, the threats are all around but in a new way and the possibilities of new allies in the process. You even have the Black Canary set up with Laurel Lance though we’re not going to see that for a long time, Sara only gave her the jacket and Laurel has training to do. I was shocked though at Quentin Lance’s collapse, I’m shocked at what went down there.
Now as for speculation for next season, Roy is now Arsenal/Red Arrow depending on what name they use. That’s about all you can dive into there as really now that Thea is out of the picture, Roy is going to be focused on that. Felicity probably got to be part of one of the best teases in Arrow history with that relationship fake out on Deathstroke. The confusion and cheering that was happening at that moment was wonderful that turned out to be a larger scheme. Of course now the next focus is Diggle and Felicity with friends likely enough to help Ollie get back his company. That is going to be fun to watch, Oliver’s Arrow life is stronger than ever just he now has to get his secret identity life back in order.
I’m hoping that they don’t do the year jump like they did last time, it would be fun to see Arrow spending the season rebuilding itself. I wouldn’t be shocked if Season Three did another jump in Arrow to set things in motion. I’m going to repeat myself though on this, don’t do the time skip again as that gimmick can only be used once or twice in the history of a series. I want to see Arrow built back up before my very eyes, I want to see all of third season happen in a way that blows my mind. Arrow Season Two blew Season One away, maybe Season Three will be the time I revive Arrow Analysis once more. Until then, here’s to Season Three of Arrow being even better than the second.
(Before we even start, this is going to be spoiler heavy as to what the season finale of Agents of SHIELD revealed. Turn back now because I’m not going to be holding back a single spoiler here. You have been warned.)
Agents of SHIELD has been on the uptick in the latter half of the season. After a good but uneven beginning no one can deny that the series ended on a strong note for the season finale. Captain America: Winter Soldier opened the doors for Agents of SHIELD to become the series everyone hoped it would be. Agents of SHIELD started as NCIS in the Marvel Universe and now the show feels like a true part of the Marvel Movie-Verse. I liked the show but could tell it was uneven in trying to figure out where it fit into the larger spectrum of Marvel’s plans. The NCIS comparison isn’t unfair because that’s how the series was promoted in a sense, I’m getting now it was the throw us off the scent as to what was to come. As they introduced the elements fans demanded to see, never seemed to work the way the show wanted. Of course the attitude started to change once Lady Sif made her first appearance, that’s when it all became evident that things were going to change rapidly.
By the way for all of those who are still reading at this point, this is where I start spoiling the season finale. The only way I’m going to be able to talk about this in any fashion is with spoiler theater. Now that the disclaimer has been put in twice, let’s begin the full chat. As the second season has opened up to Agent Coulson becoming Director Coulson and rebuilding SHIELD over the next season. Now that Nick Fury has at least explained why we’re not likely see Samuel L. Jackson much in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the door is opened for this daring new world. As Guardians of the Galaxy explores the cosmic side of Marvel Movie-Verse, Agents of SHIELD gives us the Earth side of things to set up Avengers: Age of Ultron. While the show can be used as a logical tie-in fest, the series has mysteries of its own to deal with.
I loved how John Garrett was handled at the end of the show, I couldn’t help but laugh. Laughing in a good way just when you think that John Garrett could be back after being smacked down with new technology, Coulson zaps him and that’s that. The way the scene was set had to be done to show everyone that Season Two would put Agents of SHIELD is a new direction. The mystery of Skye’s Dad revealed alone will be occupying a good part of the season it seems, why in the world was he dripping blood? Again more questions and exciting ones as the series is now on new footing. Of course now Coulson is doing that weird thing Garrett was doing in the finale with the graph of sorts, I’m wondering how that’ll play out in the next season.
As for everything else, please let Trip be confirmed as new cast member! I think he’s awesome and a great replacement for Ward on the team. Heartbreaking in this was FitzSimmons and the fate of that team, Fitz is not dead but that’s the only thing Simmons will say this point. Even further, yay Patton Oswalt is still on Agents of SHIELD! I swear the Koenings are likely life model decoys but whatever the case may be, Patton Oswalt still being on Agents of SHIELD is awesome. So many possibilities are being set for the next season, I can’t wait for it to begin. Now let’s all wait in anticipation for the next season and see just what the series has in store for us. I’d love to hear from you all on this so feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you all on this.
Now as the series commitments are getting confirmed, the trailers for these comic book show adaptations are hitting quick. Now the Constantine trailer has hit the scene giving us our first glimpse as to what the series will be like this fall on NBC. I’ll link the trailer below as I just got a youtube link to embed in here, sadly at this stage it is region locked but there is a solution! Thanks to Ari of Comics and Cookies I have a region free trailer that I can share with you good people across the rest of the world, check it out here. Either way, you can watch the trailer and we can all chat about it from there, so links in two places and after you’re done watching head on below and I’ll share more of my reactions. I’ll be here, just watch the trailer, enjoy and learn more about the Constantine show.
Now that hopefully everyone is caught up, time for Constantine trailer reaction time! I’m not a die hard Hellblazer fan but I’ve read enough to see that at least they got the look right. The people working on this show are wanting to connect the comic and television worlds to satisfy as many people as possible. Take note of this, Matt Ryan as John Constantine is an improvement over Keanu Reeves, a dramatic one. Captures the personality, wit, conversational tone, and he looks the part and that helps in believing he is Constantine. I was initially afraid that the show was going to try to be Constantine by way of The CW’s Supernatural and the trailer ends that speculation quick. Now in the full show I don’t know what we’ll be in for but at least in the trailer there’s an immense amount of promise in the full show.
Impressing me even further is the fact that NBC is scheduling Constantine after Grimm on Friday nights. I had a feeling they were going to do it as it just made sense and NBC did the the smart play. As I was thinking about all these comic shows, NBC’s best bet for Constantine to go over with the audience was to pair it with Grimm. The audiences will go together smoothly, at least let’s hope so for the sake of Constantine. I’m optimistic about Constantine as it looks like a good show if it lives up to the promise of the trailer. Response wise sounds positive so I’m happy to see where this goes from that rocking trailer.
