Oh my lord, so I accept live tweeting and talking about shows as a way of life. I’ve written about it and talked about it frequently. Here’s a thing with Doctor Who airing here in the states the same day as it airs in England, it should usually prevent major spoilers. Not this round as I’ve seen some stuff. Not that bad but enough to be a little annoying and when I hear about people saying they’ve had the entire show spoiled, that’s not cool. See there’s a good reason why people reference the worst audience for live tweeting is The Walking Dead audience, they spoil the heck out of the show. They spoil with reckless abandon and it ticks people off. The Doctor Who fans have usually been good until recently, now they’re having a moment of let us spoil everything before the rest of the world can watch it. As I say, bad audience bad, don’t be The Walking Dead audience.
Now live tweeting and talking about your favorite shows is fine, but for the love of everything don’t spoil the entire show on social media five seconds after it airs. Tumblr is not your spoiler country, put spoiler tags or cut the image if you really want to talk about it but geez, warn people because you know, we want to enjoy the show too. Now I’m trying not to sound like I’m yelling at you, we’re all cool for the most part but wow social media you are failing at not spoiling things for people. At least in comics people usually put spoiler tags in news articles and in anything else talking about a story. Not saying it is perfect but people are usually good. On websites people are good about spoilers but then on Social Media, all heck breaks loose and people spoil all of the things.
I swear the Internet really needs to adopt some kind of etiquette but I know I’ve talked about that too and boy does that go away quickly. I understand excitement about movies, tv, and so forth but you don’t have to spoil a show to talk about what you love. If you want to talk about a spoiler, tag it or wait for a bit before you go spoiler crazy. I may have to actually come up with a formal etiquette on spoilers here but I know someone has written the darn thing somewhere. Heck there’s even been videos done about it alas people do what they do.
Anyway, I had to get that out of my system. The Internet is one big Spoiler Theater and maybe one day it won’t be as much. One can dream right? Yep, one can dream.
Today was draggy and I mean seriously draggy. When there is a weather change it usually makes me feel pretty dragged out. So my mood for doing too much was pretty light. Now that I’m adjusted to it I’m good but man for a lot of the day outside of my walk I was pretty much just as the blog says here, chilling. It’s been that kind of day but that’s alright as I can always play catch up tomorrow now that I’ve gotten adapted to the official chill of the fall. After napping off and on today though I get the feeling I’m going to be up for awhile. That’s fine but now you all know why instead of anything else you’re getting a chill bloggity thing. You all know when you get this, I’ve been kind of out of it most of the day and have only been on computer here and there. Curse you wacky weather, I swear weather changes are lame, totally freaking lame.
I did watch Doctor Who tonight and well if you’ve been following Doctor Who for awhile this episode really went there. It was a lot of fun and I’m really happy about the next episode. Maisie Williams is now part of the Doctor Who Universe and that’s awesome. She was having a ball and I get the feeling that with the next episode she’s really going to cut loose. I never realize how many people were having issues with Peter Capaldi as the Doctor and good lord never ever get people started on Clara. That’s about five shades of a battleground that I have learned I want nothing of. I really like Clara this season and I’m loving how she’s developing this year. Considering that this is Clara’s final year as a companion I get the feeling she’s going to go out on a high note, I’m pretty excited about that. Wow I love Doctor Who this year, let it continue to be a great time.
Not much else to report for today, outside of weather wacky and I am going to relax and read for awhile. Hope everyone is well out there and I’ll catch up to you all later. Bye for now!
Chill Bloggity Thing 10/3/15: Happy Birthday to Me! Also Wow Doctor Who is Weirdsville in a Good Way
Starting out, hey today was my birthday as I post this, October 3rd! All I did was for the most part read, that was really about it. I went to the library, got a few books, and that’s my day. I do have two of the books that lead into the Force Awakens so I’ll start on reading those pretty soon in between the other reading I plan on doing. Yes I know, I have a reading backlog of doom anyway but I can’t help myself as when you find books you want to read, you can’t help but be drawn to them. So many good books so many ways I wish I had my own massive soundproof reading room. Oh well, one can dream but hey I’ll make time for reading anyway, not like I don’t make a point to at least read for an hour a day no matter what. With all the cool books out there, shouldn’t be a problem.
Now for my reading today, I did make a point to read This One Summer and boy am I glad I did. I’ve had this out from the Library for a bit and I finally sat down and read it. Really good read you all, if you haven’t read This One Summer yet go forth and read. It’s so amazing, it might make you sad at a few points, but it is worth all the emotions the story will put you through. I enjoyed this book and man I can’t believe it took me so long to read it, seriously it took me way too long to read this book. I’ve had it hanging out in my book haul for way too long, bad Wesley bad. Won’t let cool books like this hang out for this long again.
Yes though on Doctor Who so far this season, it’s been weird but a fun kind of weird. I saw the episode tonight and wow I wasn’t expecting to be another two part episode after last week. Then again it looks like there is enough material to make this a two part adventure. I like the Underwater base and the spookiness of the beings around the base. That ending wasn’t on the level of the first episode but definitely a haunting cliffhanger that’s for sure. I’m excited for next week again and it’ll be a lot of fun to see how in the world this two part adventure ends.
So I shall end this post here before I become the babbling wonder of blog land. Catch up to ya’ll later, bye!
The new season of Doctor Who has begun and it is off to an amazing start. Wow so much happened in one episode and now I am wishing it was next Saturday already. Last season was a little all over the map, some good episodes and some episodes that were a bit lacking. Now if this episode is a hint of what is to come this season, holy crap what in the world is the rest of the season going to be like? This is nuts and off the wall and delightfully unpredictable, the things I love about Doctor Who at any given time. Everyone involved in this episode deserves a fine round of applause for how they handled this episode. Michelle Gomez is nearing if not close to surpassing John Simm’s Master of the Earth for me at this point. She’s so good at that role and heck I really enjoyed Clara in this episode. Since this is Jenna Coleman’s final season of Doctor Who, looks like she’s going to go out on a high note. So far this is also the best episode for Peter Capaldi’s Doctor Who so far too, really I’m happy all around as this was a phenomenal episode!
We knew that Daleks were going to appear this season but I didn’t ever imagine what I saw tonight. This is Dalek on crazy fuel. Crazy fuel Dalek and many other insane surprises. You all better be glad I’m not going spoiler crazy because this is difficult not to go spoiler crazy. It was really good and I know this season is supposed to be focused on two part episodes and that’s not a bad idea. If they’re all like what this episode is giving us, oh man we’re in for one awesome season! I cannot imagine what will happen next week. Bear with me you all, this is pure geek out post. I’m not even hiding my geek out as I am so happy about this season premiere, so freaking excited!
I want to know how you all liked the episode, let me know what you thought about it. Tweet me or whatever you like. Let me know and hello to new Doctor Who and here’s to one mind blowing season ahead!
I cannot believe it is September, blows my mind really how fast September has come upon us. The leaves are turning, the bugs are going dormant, Pumpkin Spice is everywhere, and hey new TV shows for the Fall! When I was a kid I loved the Fall TV Season, especially for Saturday morning shows. When TV Guide released their Fall TV Preview issue, I was all over that. My Parents could tell you how excited I’d get when the issue was delivered in the mail. I would start right then and there plotting out my Saturday morning. In turn I’d see if there was anything in prime time that could catch my eye as I got older. Week by Week I’m going to chronicle what shows I am watching and what shows I plan on watching during the week. As much as I adore comics, I also love some good TV in the process too. This is going to be fun so let’s get started!
I’m currently watching Longmire so as I’ve been watching that an episode a night I’ll probably have that done this week. I still have Bojack Horseman to watch too so I may have to make a point to sneak that in this week. Of course Fear the Walking Dead comes on at 9:00 pm on AMC so I’ll end up catching that this evening. Monday is pretty much WWE Monday Night Raw and that’s about it, that’s Monday right now. Though starting next week Monday Night Raw will start getting pushed to the side as soon my Monday will have other shows to watch again. Yes Gotham takes priority over WWE.
Now for Tuesday this week it’ll probably be both Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris on NBC and The Bastard Executioner on FX that I end up watching. Neil Patrick Harris is usually solid and he’s making a stab at reviving the variety show so I’m willing to give him a chance. The Bastard Executioner could be interesting and I’m game to give it a shot. Man my DVR is going to be on a fun adventure this week that’s for sure. Wednesday is South Park and Moonbeam City on Comedy Central. South Park is a show that I always watch year after year and usually I enjoy it. Even when it isn’t perfect, South Park is usually pretty fun for the most part. Now Moonbeam City I hadn’t heard much about until recently and I like what I’ve seen of the art style. It could be cool so Moonbeam City is worth checking out for me.
Thursday and Friday are big nothing weeks for me. Zero, zitcharoonie on Thursday and Friday this week. Those will end up being Longmire and Bojack days it looks like so I’m cool with that. Then with Saturday Doctor Who returns! Yes, Doctor Who is back and I am looking forward to this season! A lot actually. The trailer got me pumped so here’s to a good season of Doctor Who ahead!
Now let me know either in the comments or twitter, or whatever else what you all are looking forward to. I’d love to know. Here is week one of my TV journey for this fall season. Thanks for reading!
